Wide Feet

If you have wide feet, or suffer with bunions, finding stylish shoes can be a problem. However, Calla Shoes is a specialist shoe retailer for bunion sufferers and can provide comfortable yet stylish shoes. Unlike regular wide-fitting shoes, this specialist retailer can provide styles with extra width across the bunion area and supply wide-fit, extra-wide fit and even a wide toe box fit.  Stylish flats, heels, boots and trainers - designed for ladies who suffer from bunions and problem feet.  Wide fitting toe boxes, hidden stretch panels, ultra soft, luxurious materials, cushioned and arch supported insoles. These all add up to create a shoe experience that your feet will love.

Heels

Stilettos usually measure three inches or taller and are often seen as extremely feminine and very sophisticated. However, it can be difficult to walk in very high heels leading to injuries and embarrassing falls. Kitten heels, measuring less than two inches tall, were extremely popular during the 1950s and this style has recently made a powerful comeback.  They are ideal for those who need to walk around frequently but still need to dress with more elegance. The shorter heel prevents your foot having to form into a higher arch as other taller heels enforce. If you don’t feel comfortable in fine heels, opt for block heels. In addition to being extremely chic and trendy, the chunky block heel is also great for physical health. Weight is distributed more evenly which means there's far less strain on your arches and balls of your feet. A chunky heel is better for your foot than a stiletto because it has a greater surface area to distribute your body weight.

Ankle Straps

Shoes with ankle straps that fasten securely around your foot and ankle are more comfortable to wear as they prevent your foot from slipping around inside the shoe, reducing friction and pain. However, the strap forms a horizontal line which visually make legs look shorter. The more contrasting colour of the strap with your feet, the more obvious the cut-off will appear. If you have short legs, you’ll need to create an unbroken line from your legs to your feet, to create the illusion of longer legs. Ensure colour of the straps blend with your legs, so wear nude shoes with fine straps in summer and darker straps with dark hosiery during winter.

Larger Feet

Heels make feet look smaller because they change the angle of your foot from horizontal to diagonal. The heel doesn’t have to be extremely high - a mere inch or two can make a visual difference.  Be wary of white shoes - just like white clothes, white shoes make feet look bigger.

Short Legs

If you have short legs, a pointed-toe style is the most flattering style to make your legs look much longer. Even a pair of pointed-toe flats will make your legs look extended.  Square-toe styles create a horizontal line which widen the appearance of your feet and can also make your legs look shorter. Nude or skin-color shoes visually extend your legs by the length of your heels!  Heels with a low vamp are the shoes that show a little bit of toe cleavage.  The lower the vamp, the less covered your feet are thus the longer your legs will look.

Comfort

Uncomfortable shoes can drastically reduce your confidence so avoid very tight-fitting shoes – they’ll cause blisters and really hurt your feet.
