Silk Scarves

 Benefits of REAL Silk Scarves

When presenting a silk scarf to a beloved member of your family, it is a way to communicate deep affection and if you hand a scarf to a friend as a gift it means you appreciate their friendship!

In the words of Audrey Hepburn: 'When I wear a silk scarf I never feel so definitely like a woman, a beautiful woman.'

A 100% real silk scarf is so much more than just a staple fashion accessory. Generally, most people consider real silk to be a very luxurious, expensive fabric. While it is indeed true that silk is more expensive than most fabrics, consider silk scarves to be an investment and how they can provide many health benefits.

Hypoallergenic

Silk offers a delicate touch on both your skin and hair as it doesn’t rub against your body the way other fabrics may do, so it obviously lowers the risk of irritating your skin or hair. Using silk scarves regularly keeps your skin aglow for longer as it retains the moisture of the skin. It delivers the same benefits to your hair, keeping it soft, smooth, and luxuriously silky. Moreover, if you have sensitive skin, pure silk scarves are great for you as they are hypoallergenic.  Silk has proteins providing a natural resistance to fungi and allergens. It’s also chemical-free and doesn’t need further processing to achieve a smooth texture. Silk is naturally super-soft and non-abrasive, which means it doesn’t contain chemicals and additives which may lead to skin allergies and breathing problems.

Hair Care

Silk can reduce the potential of frizzy bed hair in the morning so if you don’t invest in real silk pillowcases, you could place a silk scarf over your pillowslip to prevent frizzy hair or wrap your hair in a silk head scarf to promote healthier and shinier hair.  A silk head scarf is a gentle, friction free surface that protects your hair from tangles, frizz, damage, or hair breakage. Cotton pillowcases contain tiny fibres that can snag and tear strands of your hair.  Every time we sleep, we toss and turn against abrasive bed linen which can aggravate hair and cause moisture loss and breakage.

Breathable

Silk can help regulate body temperature far better than other types of fabric. This characteristic is beneficial for menopausal women as silk can prevent the occurrence of hot flushes.  Silk is a natural thermal regulator and maintains body temperature all night through. When it is cold, thanks to the air captured between the silk threads, the heat is kept inside creating an isolation effect. That is the reason why silk is known to keep the body cold in summer and warm in winter. Silk is a natural material that is bio-degradable, so it's a great eco-friendly option. If you take care of your silk scarf, it will last you for many years to come.

Stylish

Silk scarves are expensive, but very stylish and nothing beats the advantages real silk can provide.  Real silk is a magnificent material, the epitome of luxurious fabrics and the perfect choice to feel special. Imagine how many different outfits you could accessorise and the methods in which you could style your scarf
